This was by far the best music conference or event I have been to in the last year as far as helping the artist get signed and a little light on the music biz. Corbin was honest when he said that you were going to get to meet the man or woman next to the person that makes the final decision on your project. Unlike the International New York Music Festival. Everything and everyone that Corbin said was going to be there was, and even some that he didn't mention. The Summit of Chicago was by far a great experience for this up and coming artist as well as a great place to network with other artist that are in the same situation that I'm in trying to get that big break. Once again great event and spectacular outcome of major labels, managements, producers and independent labels. Thank you Corbin for that opportunity of a life time.

I felt as though the summit was extremely benificial for starving artists
because it gave us a chance to present our music to major inquiring ears. A
lot of artists throughout the country have hot product but simply have no
idea as to how they should go about shopping demos or presenting promo
packages. The Rapvibe Summitt gave us the opportunity to not only present
our music but also receive valuable industry information that was presented
by the record executives in group and one-on-one meetings. Good looking
Corbin and staff, IT WAS A TRUE BLESSING!!!

Corbin, I just wanted to big you up for putting this summit together. If no one has taken the time to do so, let me be the first. I'm from way out in a small town called Murfreesboro, NC and we are like the furtherest place from being close to any type of record label or Hip Hop Venue. Kids here really think it's hopeless because the industry seems to only be in your major cities. I got so many prayers, wishes of good luck, appraisals, and etc. for my hard work and dedication to make it to the summit. You and jake know that I told you from the jump that I just didn't have the money, because my wife just had our 3rd child in march and she was out of work, but if you and your business was straight up front, then I would give you my word to be a part of Rapvibe. I am morethan happy to say that this is and was the best thing to happen to me in all the near 15 years I 've been at trying to get into the Hip Hop industry. The A&R Panel was crazy, but as i told you outside the Ontourage, the most important part of the Summit was "The A&R Panel". I was really ready to go after that. So many emcees think they had what they need and I saw that they weren't as prepared as they thought they were-to include myself. As soon as I got home, Tuesday morning I got my Company incorporated, I got my writers publishing, and my publishing company strated- all official! Every dime I had left from the summit has gone into my business. Labels like Chocolate Factory, Star Trak, Indasoul Entertainment, and others told me that my promotional packages were incredible as well as my music for the first time ever being involved with something like this. They even gave me some more tools to further my entire project. Let me say this for anyone who doesn't know- Those A&R cats were straight up "RAW DOG"! Man, that's the way they needed to be without sugar coating. Some people know they didn't put their all into their work and really thought they were going to get over on these cats. In closing i look forward to the next venue as well as the next steps, because I promise you that "Carolina Blue" is going to have a project that they can't refuse. Again, thanks for just making things happen when people doubted you and doubted it could be done. Tell'em holla at "Blue" if they want the real on what went down. Also- What Up to my new Fam - Sweets; North Carolina, Lost One, Florida: and Malisha, Georgia. We were able to compare notes and "NETWORK" this is what this game is all about. Holla at ya boy!

Corbin,
Just wanted to let you know what a great experience we had at the 2004 Rapvibe Summit. We were really impressed with the responses we received from The Chocolate Factory, Universal, Virgin, and Rap/A/Lot, just to name a few. We were pleasantly surprised with all of the postive feedback we received. Everyone expressed their appreciation to Playamade Ent., for coming to the summit not only prepared, but with a good sound. The camera crews that surrounded the summit made us feel like we were stars.
We were able to listen to some artists during the panel review, but did not have the opportunity to present our music. Watching and listening allowed us to take into consideration exactly what the record executives were looking for.
The Chocolate Factory enjoyed the combination of our rap and singing on one of our newest songs.
Universal Records thought we had a good sound and that we have what it takes to be in the business.
Virgin Records was impressed because they do not currently have anyone with our particular sound on their label.
Rap/A/Lot Records expressed their eagerness to work with us in the near future.
Kelly Griffin, of BET, said that our music made him invision a video that could be played on BET.
Over all, the summit was great and very well put together.
Thanks to you, our dream of being discovered and signing with a record label is becoming more of a reality. All of our hard work has paid off.

hey corbin,
The summit was amazing. I got the feedback that really boosted my confidence
as an, artist because the tracks that I presented impressed every exec. that
I encountered. I believe that I had the hottest record in the building
titled ''YOU WANT IT'' which was track #4 on the demo I presented. I
received lots of phone #'s and addresses from the execs. as well as offers
to have 2nd meeting with certain labels. You definitely did a good job on
this one Corbin. If the execs I spoke with are really serious about what
they told me, I should be getting signed sometime soon.

Corbin...this RBIZ
The summit was crazy man...It was cool cause the labels actually spent more than 3 minutes with you...they got to know you a little bit and give you advice on what makes and breaks an artist...I learned more in 2 days about the game than I have the last 4 years...I have a better idea of how to do shit and the biggest thing was the connections made...being from Montana I need all I can get. But I give you props man cause YOU KEPT YOUR WORD... THERE WAS ACTUALLY OVER 30 LABELS THERE and THEY actually DID MEET WITH THE ARTISTS... I've been to these type of things before through other companies and they are all bullshit, but this summit was everything you said it would be...no talk just all SHOW...love you for that...thanks homie I really appreciate you puttin on something like this...holla back.

The RapVibe Summit in Chicago was truly more of a learning experience than
anything else.Besides being an absolutely incredible opportunity that an
artist rarely ever gets in the music industry, the RapVibe Summit had some
of Hip-Hop's most respective individuals giving us, the artists, valuable
information in order to further ourselves and our careers. Usually with
events like this, tension grows between artists because the way certain
events are planned make it seem like a competition. But with this event,
there was a positive aura enveloping the room and every artist interacted as
peers instead of rivals. Artists would exchange contact info and demo's in
order to network with each other. All in all, big props to Corbin Grimes for
throwing the event and making it very successful! Thanks once again Corbin!
