“Dracula” is Coming to CSN
Afternoon benefit features Broadway performers from the Las Vegas Strip

The dramatic music and story of Dracula will be on stage Oct. 18 and 19 at the College of Southern Nevada’s Performing Arts Center. The uniquely designed performances will be held at 2 p.m. each day in the Nicholas J. Horn Theatre, located on the Cheyenne Campus.

Composed by Richard Oberacker, conductor of Cirque de Soleil’s “Ka,” the staged reading concert features a 15-piece orchestra and 22-25 performers, all of whom are working in shows on the Las Vegas Strip.

The CSN Performing Arts Center and Family Promise of Las Vegas have partnered to produce the show, which is a benefit for each organization and will include a silent auction before each performance.

The show’s director Carmen Yurich notes, “The response we’ve received from the singers and musicians from the Las Vegas-based Broadway shows has been phenomenal.  Because the event benefits such worthwhile causes, everyone has been very generous with their time and talent.”

Family Promise is a non-profit organization that assists homeless families in the Las Vegas valley to achieve lasting independence by helping the community mobilize to provide safe shelter, meals, and support services for them.

The Performing Arts Center’s share of the proceeds will go into its “Friends of the Horn” account which is used to enhance productions by bringing in guest artists and more diverse programming for the students and the community.

“We appreciate CSN’s willingness to host this event,” says Bruce Ewing the show’s co-producer and board member of Family Promise. “Both of our organizations share the mission of a desire to build a stronger community and improve the quality of life for residents of southern Nevada.”

VIP tickets for each show are $50 and will include preferred seating and a post-show reception with the performers.  Second tier seating is $30. Tickets are available at the CSN Box Office at 651-LIVE (5483) or online at www.FamilyPromiseLVTickets.com.

The CSN Performing Arts Center is located at 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. one mile east of I-15.
