Amazing Feats with Professional Prodcasting Gear

Ever wonder how those podcasters get those professional results? Just a few pieces of professional gear, a good microphone and a good laptop, that's how.  In this example, pro DJ Stacey Powells does a field interview with parents who have had the experience of raising children with cancer.

What type of equipment was used?

The above is from the Behringer site.  The mixing unit is by Behringer, and contains a pre-amp.  It can accomodate 4 to 6 channels of stereo audio, and various mono inputs.
I have used it before, but had to sell the one I had due to economic situations, about a year ago.
It comes in 4 and 6-channel versions, for a little over $100 - I've seen it on eBay for around $50 new.
I recommended it to people who have sent me podcasts in the past, and it works great.
This is a sample using it and a cheesy mike - so you can probably make do with a good mixer/pre-amp.
It came from this recording session:
Not bad, eh?
Stacey Powells is a professional DJ in Mammoth Lakes, CA.
Brian Rouff is an author friend.  This was a discussion of raising kids with cancer. Pretty interesting, but nobody cares, it seems.  The Exhausted Parent series is available for syndication.  Email jwilson@vegasbuzzradio.com
