Browsing by artist or album or genre just doesn't cut it. Genre is a ridiculously restrictive way to categorize music, and unless you're trying to get to something specific, artists and albums is also useless.

So, why on earth doesn't iTunes support tagging? No idea, but I can't be arsed to wait around for them to implement it. My music needs organization NOW. (Btw, I'm sure there are other programs that do it, but I can't be arsed to deal with them either!)

Taking advantage of one of the unused fields in the track info, and the iTunes smart playlist feature, we can hack together a pretty useful tagging system that vastly exceeds the pathetic genre categorization.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://vegasnews.squarespace.com/podcasting-news/2007/5/10/lastfm-begins-offering-video-recommendations.html"><rss:title>Last.fm Begins Offering Video Recommendations</rss:title><rss:link>http://vegasnews.squarespace.com/podcasting-news/2007/5/10/lastfm-begins-offering-video-recommendations.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>
London-based social networking/music website Last.fm has announced that it will be using its connections with major and independent record labels to bring video recommendations to the site this week.
</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://vegasnews.squarespace.com/podcasting-news/2007/5/10/odeo-acquired-by-sonicmountain.html"><rss:title>Odeo Acquired by SonicMountain</rss:title><rss:link>http://vegasnews.squarespace.com/podcasting-news/2007/5/10/odeo-acquired-by-sonicmountain.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>
Odeo, one of the largest and most prominent podcast aggregation web sites, announced today that its assets have been acquired by SonicMountain, Inc., a New York based company focused in the digital media hosting and search marketplace.
</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://vegasnews.squarespace.com/podcasting-news/2007/3/28/seven-steps-to-creating-your-own-podcast.html"><rss:title>Seven Steps to Creating Your Own Podcast</rss:title><rss:link>http://vegasnews.squarespace.com/podcasting-news/2007/3/28/seven-steps-to-creating-your-own-podcast.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>
Get more clients online through podcasting.
