Seven Million Podcast Subscribers and Growing
[SEPTEMBER 8, 2005 - LAS VEGAS, NV - VEGAS BUZZ NEWS] In a recent address, Apple CEO and Founder Steve Jobs proudly announced over 15,000 podcasts on iTunes. iTunes began offering podcast support at the end of June, dramatically changing what insiders call 'the podscape.'
Seven million have subscribed to the mini radio broadcasts since iTunes initiated podcast support. This represents a current audience of 466 subscribers per podcast. Doesn't seem like much, but this number is growing by leaps and bounds daily.
Now iPod owners can get their favorite shows easily on-demand, without visiting invidual websites to listen to audio.
Podcasting comprises the most rapidly growing area of the Internet - to the constarnation of many conventional media players including conventional radio - an audio craze that sees no limit, fueled largely by the phenomenal success of Apple's iPod. The iPod allows subscribing to, and downloading podcasts automatically for listening 'on-the-go.'
Vegas Buzz currently has not one, but six podcasts, all on iTunes:
