(Re-release of earlier article)

The brainchild of Kaku Makino, Makino all-you-can-eat seafood buffets are truly one of a kind, and quite an experience. The new Summerlin Location opened in January, 2007, featuring a higher-end approach and the ultimate in ambience, with a fully-stocked bar that's open until midnight.  Although the ambience is upscale, the pricing is surprisingly reasonable and affordable.

[FEBRUARY, 2007 - LAS VEGAS, VEGAS BUZZ NEWS]  Makino Restaurants headed up by ex-baseball star turned all-you-can-eat-sushi and seafood buffet impresario Kaku Makino, has opened its third location in Las Vegas, in the up-scale Summerlin area.

In addition to well-placed Vegas Buzz News staff, various dignitaries in attendance included :

Peter Schiappa, space shuttle tile specialist and retired aerospace engineer,

Ray Girard, DPO (Direct Public Offering) specialist and consultant,

Media personality Jay Michaels (www.rewindtherhythm) ("Live from Las Vegas'),

Wayne Tanaka, Honorary Consulate General of Japan to Nevada and various other celebrities too numerous to mention.  We thought we saw Robin Leech briefly with a small entourage that stayed after he left, some crew members of the Prince Show, and a whole slew of Makino's famous celebrity friends from Japan, Hollywood and Las Vegas who came from near and far to offer best wishes for the success of the new location.

Over 400 were in attendance and treated to a spread - not much different in quantity or quality than any of the other locations - just uniformly outstanding - oysters on the half shell, stuffed lobster, fried rice, teriyaki chicken, sashimi and just about every type of sushi roll known to man - Including award-winning Makino specials to be found nowhere else.

Sake in traditional kegs imported directly from Japan provided the fuel for the many MASU square wooden cups that were passed out throughout the evening.   Happi-coated staff mixed and mingled with guests providing the ultimate in hospitality.  Despite the large numbers of people in attendance, each guest felt special.

"I appreciated the fact that the top executives and managers spent so much time with us," said Peter Schiappa, long-time Las Vegas resident and retired aerospace engineer,

"It was a busy night and I'm sure they had a lot of other things to do, but I still felt special.  It was a great evening. Wonderful people, great food and hospitality, and great atmosphere.  Makino really did it right."

ABOUT THE LOCATION: Over 24, 000 sq. ft., in area, and seating for over 400, Makino Summerlin offers the ultimate in spaciousness.

A fully-stocked bar is perfect for meeting friends for a cocktail or cup of sake before or after dinner at Makino, with an expert staff to provide the cocktail of your choice.

It's not all seafood: The incredibly diverse buffet consists of three main areas: Sushi, Hot Entrees, Salad and Dessert.  Everyone is sure to find something that matches their tastes perfectly.

All is included at surprisingly affordable prices (See below).

Other Makino locations include the Original location at Flamingo and Decatur in the Renaissance Mall, and the Premium Outlets location directly across from the World Market Center.

Friendly, attentive, staff, an expansive spread of consistently fresh and delicious seafood, sushi, salad, dessert and hot entrees at a fraction of the price of anything that remotely comes close, Makino is definitely the best choice for making an impression, or just getting a darn good meal.

Other Las Vegas buffets, eat your heart out!
