UNLV Jazz Concert Series
Join us for an exciting new concert series featuring the best musicians from UNLVs Jazz Studies Program – professors, students and guest artists! Kicking it off is the Liberace Foundation Quartet, which recently won first place at the Reno Jazz Festival. During the year, students participate in a variety of performances with critically acclaimed jazz artists including Monty Alexander, Kenny Burrell, Ron Carter, Tom Scott, Joe LaBarbera, James Moody, Marlena Shaw, Bob Sheppard, Bobby Shew and Phil Woods. Additionally, they have performed as part of the UNLV Performing Arts Center Concert Series with award-winning entertainers such as the Manhattan Transfer, Ben Vereen, Bebe Neuwirth, Marvin Hamlish and Tommy Tune. Many of the UNLV jazz professors work in Los Angeles as jazz performers or as studio musicians. Co-sponsored by UNLV's Jazz Studies program. For more information, call 507-3459. | |
