AA Offers In-flight Internet

Jack Blumenstein, CEO of Aircell LLC, announced they will be providing Internet services for AA and other airlines, saying "Today the days of being cut off from the rest of the world while in the air become history." Aircell's Gogo service is still limited and is technically a test for AA, who is charging $12.95 per flight for the service. It will work with most laptops and other wi-fi enabled devices such as some models of Blackberry. Other airlines planning tests of the service include Delta Air Lines Inc., Virgin America and US Airways Group Inc. It is being hailed by the industry as a way to increase faltering revenue streams as well as a passenger convenience.
